Teaching Method (not limited to)
My lessons are catered to the individual interests of the students. Most of all I want you to have fun! Once we have established the interests that you want to pursue, we can move forward with a definite plan. Methods in include, but are not limited to, playing by ear, playing by note and improvisation

Education

I received my Bachelor Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and recently graduated with a Master in Music from the University of Colorado. I am also studying the clarinet and saxophone privately with well established artists in the CO area.

Achievements/Scholarships

Always trying to keep an active performance schedule, I am currently the principal flute with several groups in the Front Range area including the Antero Winds, a professional woodwind quintet, and the Boulder Chamber Orchestra.

Highlights/Performances
I love to compete in music competitions and have won the first prize in eight different music competitions throughout the world, not including the numerous other special prizes I have received. I have performed in recitals throughout North America, Canada, Europe and South Africa. One of my highlight performances was at the Houston Flute Festival where I had the opportunity to be a featured artist with world-renowned artists such as Susan Milan and Jean Ferrandis.

Philosophy
Music should always be fun. Students should understand what they are playing but also why they are learning it. The goal is to teach students how to teach themselves.
