Banjo

Kane Hollins has been playing the banjo since before it was popular. As a collector of songs, he has developed an authentic style of banjo picking. He has been the opening act for Tim O’Brien of Hot Rize fame, Dan Hicks and the Acoustic Warriors, and jammed with Leftover Salmon and the Yonder Mountain String Band.

Kane has won second and third place in the Rocky Mountain Banjo Contest in 2003 and 2000 respectively. Always a popular musical act on the Pearl Street Mall, Kane’s band to played the very first Boulder Creek Festival. Currently working on a CD of original songs, he hopes to feature several of the Front Range’s finest musicians.

Kane is looking forward to teaching interested students banjo techniques refined through many years of playing and learning.
