Music Therapy - Boulder, CO

Faith Halverson-Ramos - My name is Faith Halverson-Ramos and I received an MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a Music Therapy focus from Naropa University in 2007. I have a BM in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

I am a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)and I am also a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).

I have worked therapeutically in a variety of settings with children and adults around the areas of death and dying, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, emotional disturbances and developmental disabilities. I find the use of music therapy in these areas to be truly profound as many of us have grown to deny our feelings and repress our personal expression.

Yet, by using music therapeutically we can give “voice” to aspects of ourselves that have been disowned, forgotten, or unknown.

My experiences as a musician, educator and therapist have shown me that people, regardless of age or ability, have an innate need to express themselves and for this self-expression to be heard and respected by others. I strive to create with clients a therapeutic relationship in which this can be done through the ever-accessible language of music.
