• Dave attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he received a B.A. in Music with a focus in Mandolin Performance.

• Accolades
• Recent winner of the 2011 Rockygrass mandolin contest
• Dave won the 2010 Telluride Bluegrass Band Contest with songwriter Nora Jane Struthers.  Dave won the 2005 Utah State Mandolin Contest.

• Highlights / Performances
• Dave has toured all over the United States playing in different folk and bluegrass ensembles.  He has played many prestigious festivals including this last year’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival.  In July of 2011 he traveled to Australia to represent the United States at an Australian Bluegrass Convention.

• Influences
• Dave plays and is fluent in folk, pop, bluegrass. blues, Rock, Classical, Funk, Old-Time and World Music styles.

• Philosophy
• Dave believes that most people desire to play music in order to have fun and forget the stresses of everyday life.  He feels it his job to encourage this fun and help each student reach for the next level in their playing.
