Lessons will be structured to fit both the students’ and teacher’s goals. Technique, music reading, ear training, and creativity will be covered in all lessons, but will be modified for each individual student. Styles may include Rock, Jazz, Funk, New Orleans second line, West African, and Afro-Cuban.

Isaac Zuckerman

Lessons will be designed to figure out where each student’s background in drumming is, and expand from there. We will explore coordination, timing, rhythm, phrasing, improvisation, and many grooves that will create an all around drummer. Advanced students will listen to the great drummers and discuss how to sound the way those drummers sound. Styles addressed in my lessons include rock, jazz, R&B, folk, salsa, Afro-Cuban and other Latin styles.
