• Garrett works with his students’ sense of melody, rhythm, dynamic, and tone in order to achieve their goals. Working with particular books to guide the student's progress gives long-term structure, as well as additional exercises or repertoire to address students' particular needs and interests.

• Education
• Garrett attained a Bachelor of Music with honors from the CU Boulder School of Music, where he majored in opera. He also studied piano, composition, pre-med material, and dance. Since graduating, he continues to study piano, voice, and guitar. He also enjoys composing and performing locally and abroad. As a member of the professional performance group Logo Ligi, Garrett continues to enrich his education in traditional West African music and dance.

• Highlights / Performances
• Nothing like a Chopin prelude to get the proverbial juices flowing; I have to say playing for myself is a big highlight.  When I perform, I am either accompanying a student/ colleague or myself.

• Philosophy
• Piano is such a beautifully versatile instrument. My joy with teaching the instrument is in getting a wide sense for music that comes with increase in skill and intuition.
