  • As violist of the Nexus String Quartet, Daniel Jang won grand prize at the 2010 National Plowman Chamber Music Competition, was a finalist in the Hugo Kauder String Quartet Competition and Concert Artist Guild Competition in New York.  In 2010, they were Quartet-in-Residence at the prestigious Banff Centre and the Aspen Music Festival where they worked with members of the Takács, Cleveland, Emerson, Juilliard, American, Schoenberg, Brentano, and St. Lawrence string quartets.  Before joining the Nexus Quartet, Daniel has performed chamber music with members of the Juilliard String Quartet, Beaux Arts Trio, and Kronos String Quartet, John Adams, Ian Swensen, Jennifer Culp, Axel Strauss, Paul Hersh, Jean-Michel Fonteneau, and Bonnie Hampton.  His performance of Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G minor with Menahem Pressler and Ian Swensen, was praised by the San Francisco Examiner exclaiming that “this was the sort of performance that makes an audience leap to its feet at the final note.”
