Teaching Method (not limited to)
Methods and material will vary greatly based on student goals. The student will choose Song literature with council in regards to difficulty level and musical benefit. Foundational technical exercises in breath support, range and agility, etc. will be addressed weekly, as they are applicable to all styles from jazz to opera. Finally, students will be instructed in basic musicianship and artistic interpretation.

Education
  • Bachelor of Music in composition with emphasis in vocal performance from The University of Missouri- Kansas City.
  • Master of Music in composition from The University of Colorado- Boulder (expected graduation- May 2011)

Achievements/Scholarships
Widely known as a performer of new classical music, she has performed in every style and is especially an advocate for new composition. Ms. Comninellis was a recipient of the University of Missouri- Kansas City Scholarship in vocal performance and was awarded additionally for work in music education. She is currently on full scholarship and CU- Boulder where she is a Teaching Assistant for music theory and aural skills.

Highlights/Performances
Most recently, she sung lead roles in the ATLAS Black Box theatre performances of a man said to the universe… and the new production Hulo, My name is Lily Foster. She was long-time singer and keys player for the funk/jazz bandfiat as well as The Mountain Trance Medicine Band a fusion of electronically generated sound with tradition folk tunes. Her career began in opera.

Philosophy
Every student is especially unique; therefore the method for teaching should be tailored specifically to meeting the need of the individual, strengthening their confidence and motivation toward understanding and achievement.
