About Abigail
Abbi grew up in Omaha, NE and has been a musician from a young age. She started playing cello at eight years old, and joined her first choir at church at nine. After that, she became involved in various different choirs and show choirs all through high school. Abbi attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Bachelor of Arts in French. She recently graduated from Colorado State University with her Master of Music in Vocal Performance. During her collegiate career, she performed in operas with UNL Opera, CSU Opera Theater, Chicago Summer Opera, Music On Site, Inc., and FIO Italia. Some of her favorite roles that she has performed include Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Pamina in The Magic Flute, and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro.
Abigails’ Instructional Approach
Everyone can sing, it is just about finding the right technique. As singers, our bodies are our instruments, therefore, moving while singing can be very beneficial! This is why I include a lot of movement in my teaching, as it allows us singers to connect more to our instruments. This is also the reason as to why learning to sing is a different journey for each person. Everyone’s instrument is unique, so that is why I also focus on a rather individualized approach in teaching lessons.
