Celebrating the People Who Inspire Our Music Community

NEW!

Community Spotlight Series

The Lesson Studio of Boulder is excited to launch our new Community Spotlight Series. A monthly feature dedicated to the incredible individuals who make our music community vibrant, supportive, and inspiring.

Each month, we’ll shine a light on a student, teacher, parent, or community partner whose passion and commitment help make The Lesson Studio more than just a place to learn music, it’s a place to belong.

Through their stories, we’ll celebrate the unique journeys, achievements, and contributions that remind us why music matters and how it connects us all.

For more than three decades, Dr. Ed Barnhart has been uncovering ancient cities, decoding Maya hieroglyphs, and sharing the stories of civilizations past. A world-renowned archaeologist, educator, and podcaster, Ed is also a proud parent of a Lesson Studio vocalist. In this Community Spotlight, he reflects on his journey from the jungles of Central America to the Boulder music scene, and how his daughter Alice is finding her own voice through music.

Music Connects Us

Behind every note played is a story of dedication, encouragement, and inspiration. Each spotlight reminds us that music is more than practice and performance, it’s the friendships made in lessons, the confidence built on stage, and the encouragement shared between teachers, parents, and peers.

By sharing these stories, we celebrate not only individual achievements but also the spirit of resilience, creativity, and joy that connects us all. The Community Spotlight Series is our way of honoring the people who remind us that music has the power to shape lives and strengthen community.
