Lina Gruszynski

“If I cannot fly, let me sing” – Stephen Soundheim
About Lina
Lina began singing at a very early age, picking up any songs she could hear. She began studying classically at age 15 with Russell Hunter in Midland, MI and Act 1 Performing Arts School. She later joined a rock band and wedding band to save funds for a move to Hollywood. There, she attended The Strasberg Theater Institute, leading to a couple of indie films. In the years since, she has been a private vocalist coach/teacher to many rock bands, indie artists, singer/songwriters as well as kids, teens and young adults just starting out.

Linas’ Instructional Approach
I approach each student as a unique individual. The voice is an instrument like any other, it is just the most personal. I provide a safe nurturing and inspiring environment that allows each individual voice to soar (or squeak if that’s where you’re at, but I promise we will get you there). Together we will discover your own unique voice!

Practice Tips

When learning a new piece, rhythm always comes first. If you come to a challenging phrase in a song, say the high note, focus on the note before it making it as round and full as possible. Then the high note will be there. And always remember what the song means to you.
