About Nathan
Nathan discovered his love for music soon after moving to Colorado at the age of 10. At his new middle school, he had to choose a music elective. Since he didn’t yet play an instrument, the default option would have been choir—a path he wasn’t eager to take. To avoid that, he picked up percussion and quickly found his place in the school band. Before long, he gravitated toward the drum set, but it was joining his high school jazz band that truly sparked his passion for the instrument.
In 2025, Nathan graduated from CU Boulder with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, along with a certificate in Music Entrepreneurship. With over 11 years of drumming experience and more than 5 years performing and recording professionally, he has built both the technical foundation and real-world artistry to thrive as a versatile, dedicated musician.

Nathan’s Instructional Approach
I approach teaching with a number one goal of communicating how inspiring and amazing music can be. I want my students to get excited about the drums, and I will meet them wherever they’re at.
Practice Tips
Every single day I warm up with Alan Dawson’s “Rudimental Ritual”. This helps keep my technical ability up to speed, so that I can focus on creativity and flow on the kit.
